At this price level, the suspension & brakes will be of the lowest quality, & do little more than increase weight, complexity & servicing / ownership costs.

The RockRider focuses on the essentials... "simplify, then add lightness"... Colin Chapman... founder of Lotus.

It's for a child they don't care about such things, it will "look" the biz with dual suspension and that's the important thing when you're a teenager ;)

For an adult I agree but for someones child where in all likelihood style over substance is what's required everytime :D

A teenager's friends & peers know a cheap bike when they see one. The ridicule will be the same irrespective of which model is chosen. At least the RockRider has the kudos of being a Gadget Show test winner.
  • Maybe but how many teenagers actually watch the gadget show i've got three & none of them watch it !!

Hahahaha I don't think they're going to give a crap about the Apple sorry Gadget show. I can imagine a teen standing up saying no it's brilliant the gadget show says so, shortly before he gets the crap kicked out of him...

Not to mention it's not a no name Tesco bike it's Muddyfox which does at least carry some weight among the non-elitest snobby biking crowd

While I'm content with a £20 Samsung mobile off HUKD, no teenager of my acquaintance would settle for anything less than iPhone or BlackBerry.

In similar fashion, any sub-£500 bicycle is likely to generate derision among teenage friends & peers.

Muddyfox used to be a respected name, but it's now the equivalent of what Bush or Grundig is to the consumer electronics market.
  • Any way getting back to my 1st post my daughter and i both think it is a very good bargain:j
