I have old Nissan Micra, and my partner bought me a new CD radio player for Christmas for the car. How easy is it going to be for him to take the old radio cassette old and replace it with the new one? He's willing to give most things a try, but hasn't done anything like this before! Should I just pay someone to change the radio, or is it worth having a go - how difficult is it actually to do this? Thanks.

Should be fairly easy, I would personally give it a try, limit yourself to swearing 10 times, if u swear more than 10 times, give up and get someone else to do it0

Take a metal coat hanger and make two U shaped tools. They need to be about 4 inches high and 1.5 inches wide. You can use these to extract the standard din radio.
You may need adaptors for the electrical and antenna connectors. Plenty available from Halfords.

in Perthshire Rob. In theory it sounds easy enough, in practice if he swear more than 10 times, it will be time to call a man in for sure! And you've just reminded me I need to get a new arial anyway.....0

Radio replacement is dead easy.
When you take the old unit out, you will see that all of the wires go into a block. All of the wires on the new stereo (assuming its not knicked) will go into two plugs. These two plugs then clip into this block. They can only go in one way. Very easy to do."This time next year Rodney, we'll be millionaires"0
