Help with DMP

Started on a DMP with CCCS was with them approx 12 months then made the decision to go it alone , all been well for the last 2 years , interest has all stopped but the problem i have found myself in now is because the creditors renew my plan about every 6 months they always expect me to up my payments alittle , if i dont they threaten so i have found myself agreeing to what seems like a small increase every 6 months but now i am paying about an extra £100 per month than i was 2 years ago . the problem being i have never earned anymore because i dont work than i did 2 years ago , so now im struggling again . I dont know what to do for the best , if i write to my creditors i run the risk of starting my DMP from scratch which would prob mean they would put interest back on but im sick of struggling .

Really wish i had stood firm because i have agreed to small increases for the last 2 years and now im struggling again . Everything has gone up from 2 years ago my gas/electric , water , food everything . I really dont know whether writing to them again to explain this is going to mess everything up for me , when at present all interest has stopped and everyones leaving me alone .

I just in the last hour had a phone call from a cc company as my arrangment was up for renewal i gave them my budget with the petrol and food increase included and they dropped the payment still with interest and charges frozen. I think creditors are much more responsive now. They may try for a higher figure but just say no i can only afford x .

Have they ever asked you to do another statement of means? What information are they basing these raises on?

Maybe you could go to the citizens advice bureau and ask them to help you draw up another statement of means. Then send a copy of it on CAB headed paper to the creditors. They must then surely be able to see that you are paying all you can to them?

Thanks for your replys , i always thought i was managing my DMP ok by myself but all of a sudden i seem to have little money left each month . I would prefer to manage things myself rather than citizens advice . I have set up standing orders for all my creditors through my bank i am just wondering whether to just alter the amounts myself to what i can afford ? What do you think ?. I am not even sure who my debts are with now to write to them as i think all of my debts have been passed on to debt collection agencies .

You can still manage the DMp yourself, CAB can give usually give you help on just writing a statement of means, but you don't have to hand the DMP over to them.
