Hi abovemymeans
The poster that send me the ace spreadsheet is called jm28cardiff. I don't like just to send it as it doesn't feel like mine to give - but I've sent him a PM to ask if that's OK, or maybe he will come in here and offer it himself.
I highly recommend it.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -
I carry a small biro in my pocket and each time I spend something I just roll up my shirt sleave and write on my arm in blue ink the amount / purchase.
Then once a month transfer all the data into a spending diary.
It does means you cannot shower (in case you lose the data) but that saves you money on water costs. So it is a double bonus strategy !;)0 -
Something I've done when I'm trying to remember things/have something to update a file on my home computer whilst I'm at work is to email myself from work and then when I check my emails at home I have the information there and can just input it and then delete the email, often do this if I need to bring something into work the next day so I remember to go and find it when I get in and put it by the front door to pick up the next day.Initial Mortgage January 2024 - £160,000

I keep my receipts and write everything down at the end of the day on a notepad. That then gets transferred onto my spreadsheet so that I can keep running totals.
When you get into the habit you'll find that it just becomes second nature and is easy.
Its one of the best moneysaving things you can do to keep track.0 -
Hi, I sent Seaxwyn my spreasheet, I can send it to anyone else who wants it, or if you already have it you can share it with anyone else.
I write some spending on post it notes in work if Ive spent at lunchtime, and write it on the spreadsheet each day. Much easier to track it daily rather than tallying this up at the end of the week, as your bound to forget something.0 -
I've started using the spreadsheet and it's great. For the first time i think i understand how money coming in and going out relate to each other!
thanks for your help guys.Total Debt - 23,240 - 100%
