I have a default that was registered 6 years ago today.
I settled it in full 1 year later when I became aware of it. The record disappeared from my credit file for call-credit last week, but is still there for experian and equifax. does anyone know when they will get rid of them (or if a credit application goes in shortly will they already be invisible to the company checking?)
thank you!

It is 6years after it was registered. Equifax certainly lag by a week or so before it disappears. I didn't think experian normally did lag, might go tomorrow?, hopefully if you generate a new report in a few days it will have gone from there as well.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0

Is it the complete record of the account that disappears after 6 years or just the default?0

We remove defaults at midnight after the six-year anniversary of them being registered. So it should have gone now.
