What figures are you basing this on to determine that this is poor? LBG who own Black Horse receive 1.7 complaints per 1000 which is actually industry leading. Just so you knowGetting married 02.08.14

Have you actually read all of the terms and conditions of your agreement fully as it may be worded in there that they can charge you a collection fee upon Voluntary termination of the vehicle.
I would take the money on offer as you aint gonna get anymore.
Don't really think that you threatening to put BH at the top of a google search is actually going to bother them. You only have a complaint (as I can see it) about shoddy customer service.
Hope you still insured the car whilst it was Evans Halshaw too as that was your responsibility it certainly wouldn't be covered by them and I'm very surprised that they let you leave it there.
Be prepared for a harsh vehicle reconditioning charge as this will be how they can easily silence people who shout too loud upon VT.
Good luck and keep us informed how things proceed.:)0 -
Is all this over 75 quid?
On the 4th of July all fees were scrapped.. It was Independance day as far as this saga went.
The OP then kicked off wanting financial recompense and the saga was dealt a new lease of life.
I would have been satisfied when it went to £0 personally.I also have enough SEO experience to be able to make this sort of article appear on page one of Google when somebody types in 'Black Horse Complaints' for example.
This dude managed it without being an SEO guru.

Could you point me in the direction of the new Legislation please Apples2. Thanks.0 -
I'm scratching my head over the above. I quite understand this VT thing, but what I don't understand is why someone who wanted to VT a car on HP would go and abandon it at some car dealers or other. I'd guess that the OP didn't select Evans Halshaw at random out of the Yellow Pages and that they were the dealers who actually sold him the car in the first place, but I still don't understand why anyone would think that would be an appropriate place to abandon the car unless they'd already been instructed to take it their by the HP company.
But I do understand how the actions of, a) abandoning the car, and b) refusing to complete VT form, would have put a spanner in the works of the finely tuned bureaucracy of Black Horse Finance, so I'm not surprised that these actions resulted in a certain amount of confusion at Black Horse which caused the OP some vexation. Although in the circumstances whatever detriment the OP has suffered does appear to be self inflicted.
But what I really don't understand is why somebody would decide to sue somebody else, as in court proceedings will be initiated in five days time, when they haven't yet worked out the legal basis for suing them in the first place.
Is there some back story here that I don't know about?0 -

This figure is still poor when you consider that most people won't complain. The fact that it is an industry leading figure is just a reflection of the industry as a whole. The figure of 2,373 just in the banking sector in six months - so 5,700 per year could be correct. That's a lot of complaints. Perhaps they don't have enough staff to deal with them or the willpower to fix the problem.0 -

Thanks for your response.
This isn't about the £75 as they have already waived that for me.
The fact that they can mark anybody's credit file adversely because their system can't cope with a VT is inexcusable.
What would you do if you paid off a loan and the company still marked your credit file adversely?
It shouldn't be possible for them to make a mistake like that, but they made the mistake anyway. There are no safeguards in their system. Why not?0 -

Have you never made a human error?
Take the fees waived etc and forget about it. You won't win in the long run and no one will ever care if you try and cause a stink. Too smaller an issue in the grand scheme of things. Have you no PPi to reclaim to keep you busy on something worthwhile?0
