4x Chinese Lanterns £3.72 delivered instead of £12.99

Hello all,

I have just bought these for New year (organised!). £3.72 for four with free delivery instead of £12.99. I had a look elsewhere and the cheapest I saw was on play.com 5 for £5.99.

Cars are dangerous but people still drive them! The animals are cruely slaughtered in the end anyway so the lanterns will save them the long cramped hell journey to the barbaric slaughter house!!

Not just farm animals that they affect though. Horses, donkeys and other outdoor pets are affected too.

You have absolutely no control of where these things end up. Completely irresponsible to use them and the sooner they are banned the better.

a few fields set on fire earlier this year because of these lanterns - really not good, I thought they were banned in the UK as the police are always confiscating them at events?

I'll add my voice to that of others and appeal for people NOT to use these, for the reasons already posed - the danger of fire, and the danger of injury to unwitting animals - wildlife, cattle and pets.

Comments like this make me angry and as it has no smiley I can only assume that it was meant seriously.

This inane comment is wrong on both counts. Cars are not dangerous. My car is not hurting anyone in the car park now. It is the reckless drivers who drink, speed, use their mobile, don't pay attention who cause accidents.

Animals are not cruely slaughtered.

They do die an awful death if they eat the metal from the lanterns and the farmer has also lost a valuable asset.

I suppose Kev27 would liken it to setting a car to drive itself into a field of cows, and if one gets hit, then its better for the cow to die that way!!!!

A reminder that some of our society have no understanding or compassion for anyone else.
