in Cutting tax
I have a little gift shop, i dont work from home & open the shop 6 days a week.
I am just taking my books into my accountant & just wanted to know what sort of things i can put down on expenses as i had a really high tax bill last year & i wasnt even claiming for my petrol when travelling to wholesalers :-( so this year i really want to get on top of things & just wanted some info on what i can & cannot be claiming for.
Thanks

What sort of expenses did you have in mind? Give us a list and we'll let you know the score on each, though your accountant should be doing this. He or she should have asked about the travel to the wholesalers, good accounting is as much about what is missing from the accounts as what is in them.Hideous Muddles from Right Charlies0

What have you bought/paid for that you would not have done without this business?
Is there anything that you are using more of because of your business?
What have you got receipts for?
Have you got a separate business account? This should show outgoings.Who having known the diamond will concern himself with glass?
