Holiday Entitlement and bank holidays

It does seem with what you say that on top of my 66 hours that I will get the bank holidays as well. If I do then that's fine.
Even though the company I work for is an established one, we are a new branch with brand new staff including the manageress. I don't think she knows half of the rules, so I will be trying to find out tomorrow.
Thanks for your help Littlevoice.0 -
Well today I have tried to contact Payroll to no avail. I emailed the recruitment people and asked them if they could reply by email even.
Someone wrote back saying "Ask your line manager". Grrrr, thats what I have been doing and she doesn't know.
My other work colleague thinks I am right and should get the bank holidays as paid and then work the 16 hours remaining that week, but my boss still seems to think I have to take that day as a holiday off my 66 hours entitlement.
She is going to a meeting tomorrow with the area manager and is going to ask him.0 -

I hope Friday's meeting means she gets things sorted.
If you don't get a satisfactory answer by Monday, put your request to your manager in writing (and obviously keep a copy).
Whilst, in normal circumstances, I would have waited till the two months are up when you should have received your written particulars, given that the August bank holiday occurs first, it is more important to get things properly sorted regarding the Saturday work.0 -
Yes it needs sorting. I hate not knowing things when I start a new job. Things seem to change everyday where I work, so I won't be dropping the subject until I know the answers.0

Assuming your holidays run from 1st april you are entitled to 84hrs as a minimum from when you started untill next april 1st, not 66. If your company make you work a saturday to make up your hours on a bank holiday week then you still have all of your 21 days/84hrs to take whenever you/your company choose.Be Alert..........Britain needs lerts.0

Post #1 says holiday year is May to April. See my calculations in post #2.0 -
Still not much closer to finding out about Bank holidays.
I spoke to another team leader today over the phone but could hardly hear her as our phone signal is terrible where I work. She did say something about we are allowed 1 in 3 bank holidays off and they get deducted from our holiday entitlement which is the 66 hours.
Still not convinced it's correct.
Anyway my own team leader has been to a meeting today and I will see her Monday. Hopefully she has got to the bottom of it.0
