Capital One/Cougar

Bit of advice please.
I owe £691 to Capital One.
I did CCCS debt remedy and printed letters sent off and they accepted for me to accept a default on my credit file, close my card and pay £1pm till my circumstances improve.
Used my online Captal One to make the payments.
Then they cancelled my access so i missed a month.
Stupidly i never got round to ringing them to find out how to pay and the 2nd month came round.
Im now getting letters from Cougar demanding full payment.
I emailed them to say i could only pay £1 as recommended by CCCS and what Capital One had agreed too but they want a min of £35.
I refused and have now had a card saying im getting a doorstop visit 2nite!!!By 9pm!!
Im getting a little worried as my partner is not home yet.
What do i say to them?
I dont want to let them in the house.
Should i contact Capital One? Or write to cougar by post with my CCCS details.
Thank You

You don't have to ket them in the house or even answer the door to them. If they come then just tell them to leave - they have no rights and if they didn't leave you could call the police.
You could stop future potential doorstop visits be sending a letter to revoke their right to knock on your door - but that obviously won't help you in the short term.
I'd just send your £1 payment to cougar tomorrow (or £2 as you missed one?) by postal order or cheque and ask in the accompanying letter for them to provide you with their standing order details so you can continue with future £1 payments, in accordance with CCCS advice.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
Someone will be along shortly who is more familiar with this than me.
However they have no legal right to enter your house so don't open the door

My old friends Cougar Financial Services :rotfl:
I had a agreement with C1 to pay back a set amout on a defaulted credit card account and suddenly out of the blue I got threatening letters and calls from Cougar. This is what I did -
I continued to pay Capital 1 using my credit card account reference and payment details (can be found on any old statement).
I then sent Cougar the following -
a. CCA Request
b. Revoked the right for door stop visit
c. Phone harrassment letter
They have no power to come and visit at all. If they try to gain access or get loud at the door or display threatning behaviour, call the police. They have absolutely no rights what so ever.
Since sending the 3 letters above (some 3 or so months ago), I have never heard back from Cougar
Edited to add: Make sure to NEVER sign a letter, only electronically. Wouldn't want them to have your signatureLBM 11/2009 Total Debts 11/2009 £44624 with DFD 2015

Following on from the thread above, I recently received a letter from Cougar saying that I have defaulted on my C1 credit card and a letter from Power2Contact saying that they might visit me. If anyone does visit then I'll let them know in no uncertain terms that can get off my property.
Anyway, it turns out that the outstanding balance is from CPP who took out my 3 yearly card protection renewal, and because I'd moved address didn't know about it (my fault i know). I have spoken to CPP and they are going to refund the renewal cost back onto my C1 card but there is still the outstanding interest owed. Spoken to C1 and they have launched an investigation.
I was wondering if I should contact Cougar to let them know what's happening or not? I dont want them trying to get money out of me whilst C1 are looking into it which could take a week or 2?
Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

If its your first letter from them and you are busy trying to get the balance changed then you could easily ignore their first letter. Hopefully by the time they right again you'll have it sorted, or you could respond at that point to say cap1 are investigating.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0

That's a surprise lol, i would not worry about it, my friend who i helped owed a lot more than that and only ever had 1 door step call in 8 years, just said he didn't owe anything, where can they go with that?? they just said he did he said he didn't thanks for calling cheerio they never came back . However he did get one other who called and shouted at him so he escorted her of the premises, i remember some on here didnt think much of that and saw it as assault, however she reported him to the police they called he said he asked her to go she would not so he pushed her towards the gate down the path gently, he showed them his cctv the local bobbie called by a week later and said nothing would happen just next time shut the door on them .0
