Been chased over unpaid PPi from Direct Auto Finance

Hi
we got a car with Yes car credit back in 2005, we handed the car back at half way mark 2007 because we got a new car. Direct Auto told us we didnt own them anything that it was all paid up ect..
Our last Payment to them was May 2007, and we didnt hear anything till 15th July 2008 saying our account had been sold to Hillesden Securities Limited.
I sent off for a CCA and i spoke to a lady at Dlc am guessing Hillesden Securities is same company as DLC because i get letters from both!
I went thought it and i also spoke to the lady and the lady at DLC even said she had looked at it and it showed we didnt own them anything so i was to write a letter saying this and saying i didnt owe them anything.
Well thats didnt happen, so i decided to write and say i didnt agree to the PPi whitch i didnt i was told i had to had it or i wouldnt be able to get a car from them.
I got told Stephensons Soilicitor where dealing with a lot of cases for Yes car credit so i thought i'd go with them and see if they could help me but it was going to cost a quite a bit of money, so i couldn't go with them.
So i just blanked the letters and now we are only getting letters in my husbands name even know its a joint one? I got a letter off them to day first letter this year. Annual Statement of Account.
Im really stuck as what to do now i just want it to end. I know i dont owe them anything and i'm not going to pay it but what do i do now? Thanks for any advice
