Brown bagging leftovers with no microwave

I *love* leftovers, and used to regularly take them to work as my lunch, but my company got rid of the microwave. I've purchase a food thermos, but using it would require heating up the food in the morning enough for it to retain its heat all day, and is really only suitable for soups and stews. Does anyone have any ideas? Or am I stuck with cold lunches?

What about putting it into a tub/box then into a bag that is insulated ? My sons got a Thermos one somewhere which was good at keeping food hot.
Could set up a camping stove at work, in protest until they get you a microwave you could just keep setting the fire alarms off :rotfl:One day I might be more organised...........

why have they got rid of the micro - was it unsafe? you could see if they would let you replace it - perhaps all your workmates could chip in? married to the man of my dreams! 9-08-090

One of the managers didn't like the smell of hot food. So no, it can't be replaced.Hi, I'm Mich

The whole company is weird. Every so often another of the managers goes bonkers over the fridge being 'disgusting', except that it never is! Occasionally there's a Tesco sandwich out of date that didn't get tossed in time, or bits of crumb and dust that needs wiping, but there are never spills or moldy fruit or any of the things you would think of when someone uses the word 'disgusting'.Hi, I'm Mich
