Well, I've just wrote my letter to the registrar general to have a default removed from my credit file. It's not going to get my debt free, but its rubbing out one of the signs of my "previous life".

I'm actually so excited about payday on Monday that I can make another round of payments to these debts - how sick is that!!

Today is a fab day - payday!

I've gone kinda hardcore on repayments to clear the one offs that stand in the way of me snowballing everything else. I've left myself £150 for food and incidentals for the month but I still have some expenses coming in for emergencies in a fortnight.

    Today:

    relatives £500 Paid!
    Electricity arrears £250 Paid!
Plus a months payments on all my regular debts in the sig...

got a total kick out of it - Gonna take a walk to post this expenses claim now :D
  • Hi Clarab, I don't normally post but I just had to say WELL DONE!! You must be chuffed to buts. (Oops I meant Bits!)

Good luck for the rest of the month!

Crap crap night. been informed I have to replace the windows in my flat (and they are biiiiig windows :( )

Have swallowed pride and asked the bank of Mum and Dad for an interest free loan, as they have just had a windfall. I shouldnt be doing that any more but who can turn down saving goodness knows what in interest on £2000?

Going to make quite a dent on my overpayments plan unless I take on a challenge... Windows from nothing challenge anyone?
  • Speaking as the manager of another branch of the Bank of Mum and Dad,could you pay off some of the window money they lend you in kind rather than cash? My son, who is at Uni, came home skint before xmas. I already help him by paying his rent but we came to a deal - I gave him £200 to get him through and in return he drove me to and from Heathrow, saving me taxi or car park fares, and he did some heavy gardening that I would have struggled with - cutting back a huge tree and a long overgrown laurel hedge. I was more than happy with the deal.

cheers! My folks are retired - this is money they would otherwise be investing for their future so I have pledged to use my own ISA allowance to pay into for a couple of years for them (fat chance I'll need it for myself:rolleyes: ) I feel a bit better about doing it this way - like im not taking advantage if you know what i mean.

Hopefully when the debt is all paid I'll be in the ISA habit - make myself a nice little buffer!

Took a deep breath today and sent my new improved CV to a pile of agencies.

I like my job, but working away from home is costing me money no matter how I twist it, and well, we can all do with a pay rise right?

I may even move home if the right job comes up somewhere.

Feels a bit like I've opened pandoras box, but I have a decent job at the moment and I dont HAVE to take another job unless it suits me.

Cross your fingers for me folks!

Waaah! Now we're getting to the tough end of the month :(

very very skint (waiting for ebay payments to clear to my bank account, plus £70 of expenses which wont me here for at least a week).

Unfortunately I have to go work 50 miles from home next week so even by booking ahead on the bus and things its going to cost me £35 of the £38 I have left until these payments clear :(

    Help!

    Hello clarab

Good idea to start your own thread. I'll be reading with interest :)

You clearly have come a long way and you have worked hard on this already - well done! Keep posting and we'll cheer you on :)

I think once you accounted for anything you have not included, it will be a more robust soa/budget and then you can look into snowballing as well as saving a bit each month. You can do this!

    waaaaaaah!

theres exactly what a factor does :( Came home today and theres a invoice through the door for £120 - roof repairs split between all the flats in the block.

This is my problem, I have no emergency margain - Im overpaying everytihng as much as I can and i seem to lurch from one crisis to another! I think I may need to reasses my plans - how much does anyone thingk i should try to keep by for emergencies?
