Micofibre towels

Options
Got microfibre towels for Xmas. I really don't like the feel of them DH has used and said OK. Washed today and dried very quickly. Any advice/guidance appreciated. Seriously thinking about cutting up for cleaning clothes.

They're very good for cleaning cloths, not sure I'd fancy them as a towel, but mebbe that's just me.

Oh and I know you're not in that market ... but they're exceptionally good at being stuffers/boosters for nappies ... absorb loads of liquid!

I've been given a couple of these. They are good for travel, fold up nice & small, and dry quickly. They do feel odd though. I wouldn't use them for everyday use, but they are good 'swimming' towels. The knack is to pat yourself dry with them, rather than rub as you would with a normal towel. Btw, you aren't supposed to use fabric softener with them, but we 'OS'ers don't usually bother with that anyhow!

I really don't like them. Travel towels maybe a good idea!

I find that they catch on your hands if your skin is a bit rough, - feel much better with a decent hand cream.

Tell you what they are brilliant for, grannybroon. If you wrap your hair turban-style after washing it, they really soak up the excess water a treat. Used to have the perfect sized one for that, but just realised I've not seen it in years! Wonder where that went to:confused:

We are fanatical over towels in our house. My daughter refuses to use a towel that her brothers have used. Hubby uses my lovely white towels to wipe his hands on after hes been messing around on his motorbike and they end up a lovely shade of oil. I insist on using a clean towel for my face and my boys dont give a damn what is around since i have to threaten them with violence to get them to wash, so now the problem has been solved. I have a container full of microfibre flannels and we just use a clean one each time we wash our hands and they immediately go into the washing. It saves me washing at least 4 hand towels a day and flannels are nothing to wash.

I dont have any micro fibre stuff  Probably cos I`m so tight and just wait till my dishclothes become none existant.

Can someone explain the feel of them?I like my towels to be stiff as boards and very scratchy.
