Waitrose application still on hold after 5 weeks?

Hello,

I applied for a nightshift job in Waitrose about 7 weeks ago and got an e-mail back a couple of weeks later saying....

"Thank you for your application for the position of Supermarket Assistant, Night Shift. Your details are under active consideration, and you will hear from us again in the next two weeks. In the meantime, your status on our system will show as `on hold - screening in progress"

That was about 5 weeks ago and i have heard nothing since, my status still shows "on hold"

I think the position must be taken now and they have forgot to reply to me?

I don't think anyone on here is going to be able to answer that question for you.

You need to contact Waitrose and ask them.

Hi Had the same thing happen to DH with ASDA. They also don't make it easy to get hold of someone in recruitment!!

Have just called their head office who won't give me a direct number for Recruitment - but can put me through. Went to voicemail as person on holiday. Called back - second person went to voicemail - out of office til Thursday.
Called back AGAIN and the other lady & her colleague has a voicemail saying they are all on a training day til tomorrow....AAARRGHHH!

Are you saying you are calling to ask about another person's application? They won't be impressed.

No Tortoise, i was trying to get the details soo hubby could call them, but when they wouldnt give me a direct number and could only put me through, Iwas going to ask generic question about how long does it take from completing form etc.

Well good news is, DH phoned them today, finally got through to someone and has gone through to the next stage ;-) They apologised for not getting back to him, and said they were still finalising the dates for the next stage.......
