Cancellation rights question

Hi all

I ordered a bracelet online for my girlfriend on Dec 18, which I received on Dec 20. We changed our minds and decided to return it (the item was never worn at all) I emailed the company on Dec 24 to inform them I wanted to cancel the purchase and return the item.

They have finally emailed me back today and said they will only exchange the item, not refund it. I thought under the Distance Selling Act a customer had 7 working days to cancel and receive a full refund. Am I missing something or are they wrong?

You're absolutely right. There are some exceptions to the rule, which includes anything which was personalised, so if for example the bracelet was engraved, they'd be within their rights.

Sounds like they're trying it on.
