I'm currently a full time student so my options are limited

Does your student union or uni student bar have a card? Maybe you could ask to go along with them next time they go?

You're a full time student and you haven't thought of setting up a club/society? Oh dear

You can get a card if you are involved with a club/association/tram/charity etc. Set up a university society get 20 people to sign up (or however many your university requires) and then sign up for a Makro card.

You can even call up customer services and ask them what documents you would need as a club/society.

Alternatively register as a sole trader, however you will be expected to fill in a self assessment tax form which will be more hassle than it worth if you're a student.

You could probably even call it the 'We want to get a Makro card for discount and bulk buying society'. I bet you would get a lot of people to sign up!

Hmmmm that sounds ok, but are you sure a club/society will warrant a card? I was under the impression that charities/clubs etc can get Costco cards but not Makro as I thought you needed a Business bank account statement or a registered VAT number/Tax return form for self employed etc

Go to the following link and under 'Business Use' there is an option for 'Associations / clubs (without alcohol license)

Alternatively you could just phone them up and ask them what you need. I can't believe it's an unusual enquiry.

Generally I find wholesalers are quite helpful with requests because once you started going there you're likely to keep stocking from there for a VERY long time.

I should add that I used to have one but it has been quite a few years so perhaps their policy has changed
