Groom: White Waistcoat; Bride: Ivory Dress

So am getting married pretty soon and need to make a decision.

I have originally chose a white waistcoat from the hire shop which goes with a dark blue cravat, dark grey morning trousers and jacket (almost tails length).

Thought I looked the business. Next thing I know is I tell them the OH is wearing an Ivory Dress and then they started telling me I can't wear the white waistcoat as it won't match etc. and that it'll look dirty in the photo's when we're together.

I'm really quite stressed about it. The OH says she doesn't mind and to wear what I'll be happy with... anyone been in this situation? Only have a few days to give the shop my final decision.

fyi - I tried on an Ivory waistcoat, but it just didn't complete the look...
Don't tell them your name, Pike! :D

Accept that some days you're the pigeon, and some days you're the statue. Only fools are statues every day. (15.09.12 cant wait!)

get a piece of ivorycloth and a piece of white cloth and put them next to each other.
the white will make the ivory look either yellowy or greyish - so that is how it will make the brides dress look

silver waistcoat, very pale grey or ivory I would think

Wear what you want - my OH wore a white shirt & it didn't make my dress look dirty!

Sorry but I would say Ivory waistcoat!!! I think that it owuld strange in the photos to have something different to the bride (if it helps I really liked my OH in Ivory & blue although he didn't go for it!)

Ivory/silver/blue embroidered waistcoat, and a dark blue coat would be rather more striking than a grey.

This happened to my mam with the flower girl dresses. It made her dress look cheap and dirty because they weren't a similar colour. I'd have an ivory waistcoat to match the ivory dress. x
:DStolen the OH's account so it's Jenna - not Neil:D

Have to admit that sometimes if ivory is put next to white it can make it look a little drab/off colour. If you don't like ivory for the waiscoat have you tried maybe a light grey/silver or even a very light blue might work with the cravat. If you really have your heart set on the white and your OH doesn't mind then make sure you have your jacket on for any of the official photos so the white and ivory aren't 'touching' so to speak.
