Hi,
Is it possible to cancel the above whilst I'm disputing certain things that are on my credit file?
Thanks

Experian and Experian always say that it is best to wait until the matter is resolved before you cancel.0

thanks!
i thought that it would be best but i really cant afford for the direct debits to come off next month. would I still be able to proceed with the disputes?0 -
Would you be able to carry on using one of the services provided by experian or equifax whilst not paying for it? What do you think?0

thanks!

If you really cannot not afford the payments then order satuatory paper copies of your credit files from Experian and Equifax for only £2 each and they will do the disputes again for you. It is a longer process to do it this way but you will still get the matter resolved in the end.0 -
with Equifax, you can get your statutory one online for the £2, not sure about Experian.
You can view as soon as you pay by card. I check mine once a month for the £2, which you can download as a pdf i think and access online for 30 days.
So, you can check it when you need to and save having a monthly fee.:beer:0 -

Experian allows you to get a statutory one online as well.0 -
I did try to get the £2 ones, but unfortunately the systems were not working (call me cynical, but seems like a way of coaxing people into paying for their full service)
Anyway, thanks for everyone's replies.0 -

If the systems are not working then you can print off the forms instead and send it in the post.
Experian and Equifax would prefer you to pay for their full services but up to you make sure that you know what your rights are and that you can get same service by paying £2.
I had a nightmare trying to cancel Experian the guy was trying to make me keep paying but I told him that I can get the same service by paying £2 for the paper report. I was paying for my report for years and was spending £83.88 a year just look at my credit report.
I get my Equifax online access for free as I have a Capital One card.0
