help needed with solicitor problems

Can anyone help me. I have a solicitor who is helping me with a grievence at work and I had a grievence meeting which was a total waste off time because the company said one thing in the meeting and would not sign my notes and wrote a totaly different thing in the notes they sent to me. When I received there reply on the 15th December I scanned it and sent it to my solicitor. Itstated that if i wish to carry on my grievence then i should reply to my managers manager within 5 working days stating why i am not happy with the outcome. The solicitor promised me that he would send a letter before Friday 22nd December. On the second of Jan I phoned my solicitor to see if he had replied to the company and he was in meetings and I finaly got hold of him late today and he said he was sorry but he has been very busy and he will send the letter by the end of today. At 6pm he emailed me a copy of the letter which says that I do want the grievence to be carried on but my solicitor is very busy and will reply to the grievence by tuesday next week.

Can anyone tell me if this is acceptable or should I fire him and get another solicitor

sorry for the long post
