Where is the Debt Now?

Hi

Over the past couple of years we have been getting on top of debt repayments and have a self managed DMP etc. However one debt does concern me. It was an Egg Credit Card which had been passed to Fredrickson International. In October 2009 I CCA'd them (as I did all creditors). The CCA came back OK and I continued to make payments. Somewhere along the way I got an email from Fredrickson saying that they were no longer dealing with the debt and that it had been passed back to Egg.

I expected that a letter would appear saying some other DCA had taken it over. It didn't happen and no payments have been made since.

So where is this debt now? Is it still with Egg? Is it with Barclays or is it in a file somewhere waiting to go to a DCA?

Please don't judge me, I just want a bit of advice.

It's still with Egg, which is being bought out by Barclays.

When did you last make a payment? Can you be precise about when that was?

Sorry should have put that in my original post. :o Made a payment in October 2009 to Fredrickson which went through OK and then another to Fredrickson in November 2009 and then got the message from Fredrickson saying they were no longer dealing with it. I had been paying Fredrickson for about a year prior to this.
  • I hear horrible things about Fredrickson, but I missed payments stopped bothering with them and harassment etc ended for 6-8 months, then the debt was passed to Apex have been paying them ever since now that I am in the position to do so, 4000k down to around 1500K at moment will be cleared by end of year :) Though all the time Natwest the original creditor to this day owns the debt still. Yours likely will end up with BC.
  • Thank you for the responses. :)
