My husband and i have been separated for almost one year and are trying to sort out financial matters at the moment. it has come to light that my husband has loans that i did not know about and are in his name only. Am i responsible for his debts?

You are not personally liable for the loans.
If you have any joint accounts (not savings) that creates a financial relationship that could impact your credit file.
If there is a divorce settlement at some point you may end up with less than you expect because of the debts.0 -
Just our of interest, are there any benefits to having a joint account? As I can't think of any, especially since NOTHING lasts forever

Whilst I agree with all previous replies I advise caution and make sure that your solicitor is aware of these loans as he could turn round and say that he spent the money on your behalf - and try to get you to pay.0
