mortgage for non eu resident

Hi
I am married to someone from outside the EU who is currently on a 2 year spouse visa (about a year to go). We would like to buy a house and when I went to Abbey they took his income into account when giving us an idea of what we could borrow. I assume should we actually apply the situation would be different as the Hallifax said they could not take his income into account.
Is it possible for us to get a mortgage together or would I have to get one myself and then add him on later.
I would appreciate any info in regard to this.
Thanks

There are a few lenders that will look at non EU nationals without permanent right to reside however it will depend a lot on the figures you are looking at, and the work/income of your husbandI am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
