i went bankrupt in feb 2011 and am not yet discharged but I have had to file a tax return form to the HMRC, so will I get a tax rebate and if so will this all go to the official reciever?
My tax code hasn't been changed either since going bankrupt so I still pay the amount of tax I have always done. Is all this normal?
Any help will be appreciated.
Many thanks.
Jamie.

They will most likely send it straight to the OR and you won't even see it. But if they don't you will need to notify the OR with in 21 days that you have the money. HMRC and the IS do speak to each other so don't try to hide it.
As you went BR near the end of the tax year it was to late to implement the Nil Tax Code so you remained on your normal one. This is quite normal so don't panic.BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0 -
Hi,
I had a tax return form sent to me after my BR in March this year.
I filled it in and returned as they requested and a letter came back to me stating that the tax refund had gone straight to the OR.0
