Moving from Web Development to CeMap, Advice??

Hi,

I am currently in the web development role and have been for the last 2 years but i am at a cross road and have decided to change my career to a mortgage/financial advisor.

This is due to my farther owning a chain mortgage offices and wants me to join him which i have always been interested in and have give some thought and want to go ahead with it.

I need to learn CeMap 1, 2 and 3 then he is willing to take me on board and start my road and training up to where i need to be at which i know will take time but i am willing to give 100% commitment.

I have come across this website: http://www.cemap-training.com/ which offer training for cemap 1, 2 and 3 for £795 but is this the right path to go down? or would i be wasting my money and just need several books?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Look forward to your reply.

Adam

This may be of interest, it was a response i had from a very kind forum user :-
Hi, i have just gone through the same process myself, discovered on the learn direct websibe under >impartial advice on careers and learning >jobs and careers > job profiles > financial services > mortgage advisor, all you need to know. With the ifs school of finance it costs £130 per module, you can purchase additional help materials but i havent - it helps to just read through the whole of the manual then re-read section by section over and over again ! There are a lot of vacancies for people who just have CeMAP 1

Your father owns a group of mortgage companies and won't take you on?

Even if you have all the CEMAP qualifications, not many companies will touch you. Get experience and get the company to pay you to do it! Best way and best of both worlds!
