Tracking down past debts.

I have debts going back years, everything from unpaid Council tax, bills and credit cards. I ran up these debts over a period of five or six years when i was a naive student but now i would like to try and work my way out of the mess i've created for myself. Does anyone know of any way to get a list of all of my debts and how much this will total to.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Firstly, has anyone explained the Statute of Limitations to you?
Secondly, Council tax is not covered by the Act, so save up to pay that off and try pay directly to avoid the bailiffs' fees.If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
Hi
I can't see how anyone is going to be able to guess how much your debts come to. If you want to find out who you owe you could start by getting copies of your credit files and making sure you enter all the addresses you have lived at, that should help you find some.
If you are not on the electoral roll if you register to be that might help some other creditors find you.
You could also try searching the registery trust online website for details of any CCJs obtained against you (costs £8 per address you search).
Even then you won't necessarily get an exhaustive list from those options but you should find if you do those things your creditors will all start to crawl out the woodwork and start trying to obtain money from you.
When debt collectors contact you its advised to send the prove it letter first so that you can verify that the debt they are chasing for is actually one of yours.
if you have any old debts that may be more than 6years since you paid them then before you agree to pay them you might want to conisder if any are statute barred and you wouldnt therefore have to repay them.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0
