Newbie.....

Hi,

This is my first posting and I hope i'm doing this right.

I have suddenly had my lightbulb moment and in truth it has been a long time coming and to finally realise just how bad things are is really depressing.

I have been reading your posts for the past few weeks and have decided to take action against my debts and see how much i can clear in 2007.

Haven't got off to a good start as maxed out the overdraft over xmas and its a long way to payday!

I am going to sort through my debts tonight and total them all up (roughly £30k) but i am determined to get on top of things.

Was just wondering if anyone had used a spreadsheet of any sort that i could copy?

I want to put it all in a spreadsheet so I can see it all reducing as i think this will encourage me.

I have heard snowball mentioned but haven't looked yet is this just to work out the DFD and the best way to pay things off?

Any ideas gratefully received and any ideas of how to survive January on £20 would be really handy!

I just want to say thankyou as well for all the posts on here as they are really useful and made me see that there is a light at the end of the tunnel and hopefully i will be able to see it soon.

if you put all your debts in there, with the payments you are making at the mo, it will tell you when the debt free date is. However, plenty of us are busting our DF date to smithereens by overpaying, making extra & cutting back

Have you done a statement of affiars yet? We can of courese have a lookie over to see if there are any savings we can help you get Debt free quicker!

If you look at the old-style board, there are lots of ideas about how to make your money go further/last longer.

How's it going, I couldn't find a debt spreadsheet anywhere but if you want I will make one for you, just let me know what you want on it and I'll be happy to put something together. Just pm me your email addy and your requirements and I'll send it to you. The good news is that now you are facing up to your debts you can beat them!
