UK Car hire in first year of driving license?

Hi there,

I'm desperately looking for a UK car hire for someone who only has 4 months on his license (he is however 30) so far everywhere we have looked has a minimum of 12 months. Does anyone know anywhere that will hire cars to people in the first 12 months of passing their test?

I have never seen one that accepts less than 12 months, sorry but I think you will find that is the norm.

You could try some of the local hire firms rather than the big players - they may have a bit more 'manager discretion', probably involve a higher excess if they can do it though.

Enterprise do (or did!). Two months after passing my test I hired a car from them (this was however in 2010, and I was 25). Enterprise do a great 11.99/day weekend special which you may be able to take advantage of.
