NHS White fillings?

I am due to get some fillings soon, is it possible to pay a difference or are white fillings completely out of the question for NHS patients (I'm a student)

It depends which teeth need filling. If it's the front few teeth then white fillings are used and if it's back teeth then it's the ghastly silver fillings!

No you can't pay the difference it's all or nothing. You pay wholly NHS or wholly private charge you can't "top up".

White fillings are generally only available on the NHS on front teeth and for tiny fillings on the biting surface of back teeth or the sides of back teeth.

In all likelyhood it will be a silver filling on a back tooth.
