Trouble with uk search

Hi

I hope someone can help, I was contacted out of the blue by a company called uk search about a debt im not convinced I owe. I have repeatedly asked by letters sent signed for and by phone for a statement or some kind if evidence that I owe this money.

They keep on saying they will order it, but I have got nothing.
Where do I stand, can I tell them to go away as they have not produced evidence?

Thanks

I wouldn't waste any more money on stamps or phone calls.

they may send you proof or may simply go away. If they continue to send you threatening letters and don't respond to yours, then complain to them in writing telling them that unless they can prove the debt, leave you alone. Tell them that you will report them to the OFT if they write to you again (as they are not supposed to continuously write unless they know you own the debt).
