was thinking about maybe making some sort of advent calanders this yr rather than the usual choc ones and filling with little gifts but stuck for ideas for the calender itself that wont cost a fortune.
did think about maybe mini stockings/cloth gift bags possibly on a string that can be hung up as a dec aswell or that i can hang on the tree?
need them to be big enough to hold bits like lipgloss/nail polish/mini lego figures/hot wheels ect
i know its kinda early but if dont start now i'll never have them done in time lol
any ideas/advice appreciated

this year do something that scares you for courage is not the absence of fear just the knowledge that some things are worth the risk

its never to early to start i dont think perhaps the kind of thing maybe if you want to hang things from it could be a type of decorated board with little hooks so you could hang little bags like the jewellery organza ones you can buy from ebay on this way you could fill and hang:xmastree:Is loving life right now,yes I am a soppy fool who believes in the simple things in life :xmastree:0

I made my own advent calendar last year from knitted pouches. I got the idea from this pattern

I used red, white and green wool, and I stuck on felt squares to the front of the pouches and wrote on with glitter glue. Looks really cool and didn't take long or cost much to make, but you do need some knitting skills.

There are some delightful advent calendars here aren't there? I had to look twice at the painted toilet rolls to check that that's just what they were. The stripey pegs look simple and the bunting looks amazing but I suspect making it would be a labour of love!
Long ago I made a calendar as a present- haven't got a photo but it was something like a village collage with different coloured rectangles for houses each numbered and the 24th was a church. The houses were the pockets and the roofs were the flaps- it was all machine sewing so straight forwardBeing polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!
