Ex pats buy to let could be the answer. I'm not sure if your the person who contacted me by PM a while back. If it was you, the reason I could not assist is this person wanted everything done by email which slows me down and ends up taking 5 x longer than a phone call. It's like when we see threads here that go on as people cannot get to the bootom of the OP's posts. Email also can be problematic where someone declares something you did not need to know, but once in writing cannot be ignored!!

If that was not you, sorry for this odd post. That person also expected me to take phone calls in the middle of the night at thier convienice. Err nope, you aint that important unless you want to pay me £20k up front.

Then this will impact on your application. How many? Total mortgage exposure?

Who is your current mortgage with?

Conrad - thanks for your info and no it wasn't me. Having called home in the middle of the night by mistake when we were further away (at the start of our overseas life), we've learnt our lesson - much more in tune with time zones now!! Do you have any links or info to expat lending websites at all please? Happy to do the legwork but just want to to be understood. Thrugelmir - when explaining our position, I never even mentioned (and wasn't asked) about other property as it's my salary that pays for this one. This property is our home (as opposed to the others being purely for financial gain), we just want to rent it for 2 years while we're away then we'll move back in. Current lender is Chelsea BS.
