You can also recycle those envelopes for your own post in a couple of ways:-

If you are patient ... unfold it and fold it back up the other way so the outside is now inside.

Less impatient? Simply put a sticker/stick a piece of paper over the pre-addressed part and use as usual (I'm not endorsing cashing in the the prepaid postage part! I've always stuck my own stamp over the top and written "recycled envelope" in the top left hand corner).

My frugal updates for this week:

    - substituted vinegar for fabric softener

    - used vinegar and water in a spray bottle to get the smell of pub out of my jacket, instead of Febreze

    - used remaining fabric softener mixed with water to spray on laundry/ironing

    - bought Napisan to use instead of expensive prestain treatments

    - used water from the dehumidifier in the iron (its distilled so no limescale)

    - Dug out a litre bottle of liquid sugar soap from the DIY box. It would not be used again for another few years so might as well be used up for general cleaning

    - scrunched up old newspaper in shoes to de-stink instead of using bicarb

    - got a chinese takeaway instead of eating out on Saturday night, and had enough leftovers for two meals

    this is a brill idea:

    now: buy ready brek oats
then: brought the sachets for convenience

    now: buy mr sheen spray
    then: brought the wipes

now: always bring food to work
then: would be disorganised and end up buying food outside - this costs loads!

now: always think of every penny before i spend it
then: would spend money without acknowledging the value of it - would easily blow £100 on clothes and not think twice.

now: i'm going to get out of debt and I am in control!!!!

I am not sure how moneysaving this is but took advantage of tips on the site to order shaver for husband £14.99 instead of £49.99

Digital camera for daughter £13.99 instead of £39.99

I make that a saving of at least £61 - if not more - as if I had just gone round the usual shops I would have paid a lot more. :):):)
