80th Party

My Grandad is 80 next year and we have decided to throw him a surprise party. We want to make it extra special as he lives on his own and sadly only really sees some of his friends, and even some family, at occasions such as funerals or weddings. So we obviously want to make it a night he'll remember with all his family and friends there to celebrate with him! Any ideas (i.e. decor & cake, etc.) on how to make it a great night?
Thanks
Zoe
