Full and Final Settlement by email ?

GB debt collectors for Argos contacted me by phone few times saying they had written to me couple times none of which l received now offering full and final settlement of 40% off they confirmed this through email is this acceptable by email? thank you

    Hi, guess you need to check carefully the wording of the email, i.e. that it is definitely full and final settlement and that they won't continue to chase. I'm not sure if email is acceptable or not though, guess it's in writing but then there won't be a signature to it. Could you ask them to confirm in writing?

    I would want it on a letterhead. Ordinary email is too easy to alter.

    No reason why they should not do this.

    They are offering a settlement of 60p in the £. Are you happy with this?
