I suggest doing the SOA to see where you stand and possibly posting it on here so people can see any areas you might have forgotten or any areas you are overspending in and to set yourself a challenge to get to payday by spending the minimum amount possible - perhaps you could just buy one months road tax to get you by until you get more on top of things?
How much are the car repairs likely to be? If you can continue to cycle this month you won't need money for petrol, repairs or car tax until payday which might be a challenge worth considering? alternatively you need to make sure that the absolute minimum gets spent on those cards.

Why only cycling when the weather's good? Get out on the bike EVERY day - if it's grim then dress for the weather and give yourself a bit more time to make the journey. Better for you, better for your money!

i would but its 15 miles each way... so it is a mighty slog if the weather isn't what you'd hoped it would be! Plus i don't have enough spare cycle clothing to do it every day.

I also have a dog so on days when nobody can take her out i feel it is not fair on her to make my working day any longer!

Is your rent all inclusive? Do you actually have that much left at the end of the month?

Yes, my rent is all inclusive - i am a lodger.

God no! no money left at end of the month. The above doesn't include anything beyond bare minimum! No clothing, presents (there have been a few birthdays recently), anything for hobbies (decided to give up main hobby for now - can't afford - was about £80 per month) or any sort of entertainment/drink etc. I have a caravan (used mainly for hobby mentioned earlier) that i recently moved to a cheaper storage facility paid 6 months up front (will most likely sell it now tho not worth a great deal (£1k max).

you need to set up and escape account with someone not in any way related to RBS, in case things get sticky.

I am not sure how much the repairs are likely to be and will need to speak to my local 'homer' mechanic for a price. I am hoping for change from £80 all in.
