Clarks sale - additional unmarked discounts

Clarks are having one of their usual sales but thought I'd mention it here because some of the shoes are scanning at the tills for less than the stickered price.

I went in today looking for new shoes for work - tried on two pairs that had £24.99 and £34.99 stickers (marked down from £44.99 and £49.99). I said I'd take one of the pairs and the sales assistant quickly checked them both and came back to say they were actually £13.99 and £22.99 now.

I quite happily walked away with two pairs of shoes :)

If you see anything you like get them to check the price, you might be pleasantly surprised!

Not a good advert for the clarks staff who should have reduced the stock correctly !
  • As someone who worked at Clarks through GCSE's, A Levels and a Degree, it's not the staff's fault if it scans through the till differently.

For example, the prices may be going down tomorrow due to further reductions, but the system may update the pricing 24 hours earlier.

Customers may also have taken the stickers out of said shoes and put them in other shoes and tried to get higher priced shoes at lower prices (it happens).

The stickers may well have just fallen off. Normally there is a sales sticker, and when the price is further reduced, it's just a small circle sticker that shows a price reduction. These were prone to falling off.

Shouldn't blame the staff, especially since they are paid to do YOU a service. It's not a self service place, it's a 'sit down and I'll go grab you your shoes and help you out where needed' service..

actually I think the member of staff should be praised as OP only wanted one pair, but thanks to her checking and finding the reduction OP walked off with 2 items! happy customer and more stock sold = win win

This happen to me in one of the outlet shops last week, the shoes were half the marked price when put through the till. i had to take a few pairs back(id been with the 3 kids and ended up just taking home to decide then take back the one we didnt want!) and they were only just marking the correct prices onto the shoes.... this was 3 days later.
