Selling TY beanie babies at car boot sales?

Hi, I was wondering if anyone had any idea how well TY beanie babies sell at car boot sales? I have about 50 () just sitting on top of my wardrobe gathering dust and I'm trying to work out if its worth selling them on at a car boot sale. I'm always amazed at car boot sales though; things I think will sell really well are usually brought back home whilst people fight over things I've thrown in just in case. :rotfl:
I realise I won't get anywhere near what I paid for them new, but if I could get a couple of pound for each then it would be worth my while selling them.
Anyone have any experience trying to flog these at car boot sales?

Yeah I've taken a load with me along with other stuff we were clearing out - still got a load, and put them up the loft lol - only sold literally about 2, and that just to kids who happened to really like that particular beanie, rather than a collecter.
From what I can remember I think we priced them at about 3 for £5, but not 100% sure.
If you're going and taking other stuff with you, may as well give it a try, but I wouldn't expect to sell many.Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0 -
Hmm, that's what I was afraid of. They have been so mass produced they can't even be given away these days.2023 Mortgage-Free Wannabe #19: £11,675.68/£13,000

I have sold a dozen or so, usually at no more than50p . Such a shame really as they were so very popular once.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Same here, although it wasn't a boot sale for me it was a table sale.
I asked for 50p - £1 depending on the Beanie. Sold about 3.
I ended up throwing them away as they were badly stored and got mildewed.

I've only managed to receive £1 each...and even the larger ones I struggled to get £2.0

Are you not tempted to Ebay them first-just in case you do happen to have any sought-after ones?
Then take the rest to the car boot.
Or are they all just so much cushion stuffing now?import this0 -
I would say eBay them first as a lot, then if they don't sell car boot them.
IMO eBay is where collectors are more likely to look, eBayers expect a good deal for something where as car boot visitors want things for next to nothing xD:dance: Best Wins:

I did recently sell one on ebay at 99p as it was a slightly rare one. As above it doesn't hurt to check out the names of the ones you have using the completed listings facility on ebay.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Thanks for the posts. I was hoping car boot sale would be less hassle than listing them individually on ebay (:p) but I think I'll split it so the less common are listed on ebay and the bog standard ones are taken to car boot sale just to try my luck.2023 Mortgage-Free Wannabe #19: £11,675.68/£13,000

Beanie Babies are just not selling on ebay (like so many items) and the few that do go for low money.
This is the problem with fads/crazes. Everybody buys them, then get fed up/need space/need money and the market is flooded with items which are virtually unsaleable.
It also doesn't help that there is less money about. If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0
