Thanks so much for all your help, your replies have emphasised for me just how important a meal plan is. I have done it sometimes and planned rather complicated meals, but given up after a couple of days and just cooked anything for speed. Maybe the answer is to include some simple things in my plan. Also, thanks for your advice about margarine, which I am definitely going to take.
Thanks again.0 -
Definately plan in the easy stuff
Im certainly not cooking tricky things daily.
Tonight for example we are having veggie burgers ( reduced) rolls, jackets and frozen corn cobs.
All from the stuff weve got in the freezer as we are off shopping on the weekend.
Doing a full analysis of what you have in the cupbaprds, fridge/ freezer is a god place to start planning. Once you have seen what youve got in, then you can say, "Ok that mince and toms & pasta will make spag bol, I need onions" for example.
then if you have been overshopping ( most of us have done it before menu planning) then youll have lots of random ish ingredients in. If you dont know what to do with something just shout up, there are usually more options than you can shake a stick aT!! Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -

Indeed.
Trans fats 'raise infertility risk'
http://news.independent.co.uk/uk/health_medical/article2169213.ece
"Trans fats are made from a liquid vegetable oil base which is put through a chemical process called hydrogenation to make it more solid and extend shelf life.
Research has linked them to increased cholesterol levels and a greater risk of coronary heart disease."
Going back to original topic - Garlic, onions, lemons would all be on my essential list."The happiest of people don't necessarily have the
best of everything; they just make the best
of everything that comes along their way."
