i have an appointment wiht my bank tomorrow so test the waters about a mortgage (figured since im enquiring about it at the moment they would be the best place to start then possibly look elsewhere) but i dont know what documents i would need to take with me
i've banked with them for a few years now and my salary gets paid in there and since they done all the identity checks when i opened the account then i probably woudnt need to take like passport etc

I work for a morgtage packager/network. Even though you have banked with them for a few years, it would be best if you take along the following:
Passport or driving licence which are in date so they can verify who you are.
2 x Proofs of address in the form of a utility bill, bank statement, or something similar. THEY MUST BE DATED WITHIN the last 3 months
As your salary gets paid into your account, they should be able to see what your earning. If you take the above documents, it will speed up the process as they will not need to ask you for anymore, unless there is a problem.Proud dad to Darcy.....0 -

I would still suggest you taking in a few months payslips - as they only see your net salary and would want to know whether this is made up of any overtime or bonus - of which they may not take 100% of.
Also, i still agree with ID - as the mortgage adviser needs to confirm you are who you are
I also recommend writing out a list of all your outgoings - from credit commitments (eg, loans, credit cards), bills ect - for your lifestyle, and details of your work benefits, and existing savings you may have for deposit.0 -
