Hi Everyone!
For Christmas, I brought my mum what I thought at the time from the picture on the box, was a slow cooker. Not!
It's by Royal Doulton and looks like a slow cooker except that the only control on it is a sliding heat guage going up to 250 degrees. There were no real instructions with it as to how to use it and what to use it for - what can she cook in it? I don't remember seeing an element in it - but I only saw it the once so not sure.
Also, Mum wants to know if it's alright to plug it in to cook and go out for a few hours - or falls asleep (and she's in sheltered housing) - like a slow cooker does? Have googled to no avail.
Can some kind soul please educate both Mum before she recreates a day version of Guy Fawkes night in Warwickshire?
Much Love,

Thanks for your reply hun.
Yes, it had the name etc and was marked down considerably and bought for £29.99 from TK Maxx I think it was.

My SC is actually called a roaster. It means you can use it as a slow cooker at the lower end of the temp scale as well as roast meats, etc at the higher end of the scale.
Hi lemon!
Thanks for your reply hun. It actually has a sliding range which is only marked by 140 at the low end and 250 at the high end. There's no graded temps on it!What would you do to cook something at 220 for example?
It says on the box that it's a Royal Doulton electric multicooker.

Thank you for your replies.
That's the baby!:j :j :j
There's no way to tell though where the temps are apart from the 140 and the 250 ones.
Any advice on recipes? What can go in it?
Is it better than a slow cooker?
I'm gonna need a long lie down after this! really appreciate your help - as does Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service, I'm sure!;)

It looks nice and it sounds as if it's a good one. Never heard of it before though - was half expecting it have Old Country Roses on it.0
