We are heading to Edinburgh for a weekend at the Fringe next week and was hoping someone could recommend somewhere to eat in near the Pleasance/Royal Mile area? Somewhere we can perhaps phone now to reserve a table.
Not looking for anything flash but having suffered the hamburgers at the Pleasance bar last year we need to have a proper sit down meal!:)

Have you looked at the top post on this board? You may find that a number of restaurants in the area don't take bookings as their turn around during the Festival will be a lot quicker.
You could have a look at this website

I have eaten at Panchos Villa in the Royal Mile. The food and atmosphere were good, but I was on a Christmas night out. Sadly I can't remember the cost but it couldn't have been too expensive or I would have remembered.0 -
I second Panchos Villas, the fajitas are amazing. Think it cost us £35(ish) for two mains and a starter to share, along with drinks. The Albanach is good also and quite reasonable. Gordon's Trattoria is a nice Italian one too. Loads more, but can't think of the names.0

Nice idea but according to the website it's booked solid until the 29th:eek:0 -
I would reccomend Buffalo Grill (Chapel Street) which is in opposite the Gilded Balloon Teviot in Newington and 5 minutes walk from the Pleasance, it is a BYO and there is a Co-Operative and Tesco nearby to get cheap wine or beer etc...
It is primarily a steak house but has quite a varied selection.

As I mentioned earlier you may find they are not taking bookings during the festival time, so have blocked off the full month. You could phone and find out if that is the case.Beancounter wrote: »Nice idea but according to the website it's booked solid until the 29th:eek:0
