since costco say we can shop at any of their stores and take back items to any store worldwide then are they supposed to have same prices too!

I wish! Wouldn't it be wonderful if all of the US companies would provide fair prices in the UK? Or, perhaps, the prices are SO high here because of 17.5% (!!!) VAT and Import costs?I :heart2: Waitrose0 -
its a bit cheeky of them as they use the "you can shop worldwide" as a selling point for their membership!0

You can shop worldwide. I used my Costco card in the US numerous times.0

don't forget the local taxes"This is a forum - not a support group. We do not "owe" anyone unconditional acceptance of their opinions."0

Its a bit like the iTunes games -
UK Price: £3.99
US Price: Equivilent to £2.660 -
I bought my toilet from Germany for less in Euros than it was in pounds - even after paying £45 delivery it was still MUCH cheaper than I could buy in the UK0

I'm sure that such result will make a "number two-sie" even more enjoyable.0 -
Most goods have the dollar sign changed to the pound sign. This does not just happen with Costco, has always been so, because we Brits for some reason put up with it.ac's lovechild0

Costco UK is one of the few shops that competively prices their goods in line those in US shops. Things like the coffee (which is imported from the US) are only a touch more when you take into account roughly 10% sales tax in many American states. I was just in the US and went to Costco a number of times and the US imported things like the cheesecake, raisins, and housewares (yes, they are the same at Costco in America!) were virtually identical in price. I did notice that the Mach 3 blades were more expensive in the US.
Keep in mind that we are experiencing a very favourable exchange rate right now that is nearly £1 = $2 so it can be a bit like comparing apples for oranges. When the gulf hasn't been nearly so wide, shopping has not been nearly as cheap in the US.0 -
