I left my wine in the freezer!

Must admit I'd probably just have tipped it into a bowl and got a spoon! I think sweet wine slushy sounds lovely

Hi
Last night I put a bottle of wine into the freezer to quickly cool it down. Anyway, I completely forgot all about it until this morning!!! Obviously, it was frozen solid and the cork had popped out of it. My question is, now that is defrosted do I need to bin it or will it still be okay to drink? (Apologies if this is a really daft question.)
Kind regards

It should be okay to drink. I've done that before and it's been fine. Only thing is if it was a fizzy wine, it'll probably be a bit flat.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member # 593 - Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts!0

Sip it and see
. It might not be alcoholic any more, but I'm sure it won't poison you.

Alcohol would not leave the wine just because it has been frozen.0 -
I'd drink it, and chuck some in the Sunday dinner gravy.

The alcohol would seperate on freezing due to lower freezing point, if you were wanting to you could pour this off, this is sort of reverse to distillation
Either way you get neat alcohol, hic:beer:Numerus non sum0 -

If it isn't to your liking for drinkig, you can always use it for cooking. I do this all the time with part-bottles left over.

Ah! I use this to strengthen cheap vodka. You can remove a certain amount of water via ice when it freezes. Once the alcohol content is over a certain % then it won't freeze anymore. It must be about 40% as branded vodka's dont freeze. The alcohol would seperate on freezing due to lower freezing point, if you were wanting to you could pour this off, this is sort of reverse to distillation

In this case the wine is already defrosted so the alcohol is mixed back in.0
