Mortgages for trainee solicitors

Hi
I'm a trainee solicitor and am struggling to get a mortgage. I've been employed for 5 months and am on a two year employment contract. After the two years, my employer has the option to renew or terminate my contract. However, it is extremely unlikely that I won't be kept on but this seems to be the reason why the lenders are not giving me a mortgage.
I'm trying to avoid using a broker.
I have a 70% deposit.
Does anyone know any lenders that will give me a mortgage?
Thanks

I fully agree - using qualified specialists such as brokers and solicitors to handle things you don't understand yourself is ridiculous !!
oh yes - and in answer to your last question, most of the brokers on here who would analyse the detail of your circumstances (including the employment conditions) and identify the most appropriate lender(s) !Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. Why exactly are you trying to avoid a broker? You have a non standard application.
Would you expect to see somebody with no idea of the law bypass your legal services in the future and get a result?I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. When my wife was a trainee solicitor a number of banks used to offer "trainee-professionals" mortgages, however these were no better than any other standard mortgages at the time. As it was a few years back it may not be relevant. Bradford and Bingley and Skiptons were two that offered such things (3+ years ago).
Have you tried asking around your firm? Loads of IFAs / brokers targeted trainees knowing they were likely to be a good source of future income (although this was a magic circle firm so may be different depending on what company you are in).Thinking critically since 1996....0
