Gesture payments to creditors while on DMP

Hello
I have just started my DMP with CCCS first payment goes on 1st September. I sent the standard letter out saying that I am entering the DMP and that they can communicate with CCCS. However, now I have read on here that lots of people sent token gesture payments with these letters. I did no because I have no money. I do however, have a cheque for £50, early birthday present, to cash next week. I could use that to send gesture payments but my question is how do I do this?

Do I send postal orders or do it online?

If I send postal orders do I get Post office to make them payable to the companies or leave them blank?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks Sam x
