Panasonic TH42PX60 with Cabinet Stand £999.99

Seems like a good price for the set including the cabinet stand http://www.empiredirect.co.uk/content/products/details/?modelcode=PAN-TH42PX60CAB; there is an additional £15 delivery charge - if this is the price in-store as well you could use it to price match with John Lewis and get the benefit of their 5 year guarantee.

Different package Rebecca - the ones you linked to include just the pedestal stand only; the one at Empire Direct comes with the full cabinet stand which is why I thought it was such a good deal as these cabinet stands are usually up to £400 on their own.

I'm thinking of purchasing this at the moment and the cheapest deal I've found is £980 with RGB. They do different rates for delivery including a free option (within 14 days)

Does anybody know if any of the main shops (Currys, Comet etc) price match?

    Breaking News

I've just been on the Phone to Panasonic UK, and they have said there's a definite fix for our Picture Proscessing Problems, they are just in the proscess of ironing out the details, and how to implement it all.

He also said this issue had been fully resolved in Japan.

He said this affects quite a lot of Customers, and Panasonic are very commited to their customers, and to fixing this.

When I told him that a lot of customers have been told different things by different staff, he apologised for that, and said a lot of staff didn't know what to say.

So all customers who haven't managed to leave their details with Panasonic UK Customer Support, please phone them back with all your details, including Model Number, Serial Number, Date Of Purchase, etc.

If you get a staff member that won’t take your details, (They should do now) tell them what I’ve just told you, and make sure they take your details.

    Best wishes,

    Paul.

As a side note, i've had one of these TV's since March and no problems with "purple snakes" at all.

I ve got this tv, have no problems what so ever, but there is an ever growing number of people getting this purple snakes issue. At first it could have been due to older versions of the tv, but people who have recently bought this have been experiencing this problem also.

Although ive heard this can now be fixed as someone is getting theirs fixed by a panasonic engineer coming round. Will have to see if it works

I bought one of these yesterday and unfortunately tonight, whilst watching casualty, noticed the " purple snakes" several times.

If i take the tv back to currys will they just give me a refund or will i have a fight on my hands.

If anybody can help i would appreciate your views.

    Thank You

You will have a fight I think

You could pull it out of the box and find " I hate Comet " burnt into the screen with a soldering iron and they would say you did it.
