  • Have you asked on freecycle for a chest freezer. You will be suprised what people give away. A friend of mine got a chest freezer last year that was in perfect condition it was just that the owner was having a new kitchen fitted and it didn't fit.

Otherwise check on ebay for ink, thats where we usually get it from. Have you thought about buying a continuous ink system. They work out a lot cheaper on ink.

Hi CW, I have posted an Ad on Freecycle and Freegle, in the course of the last 2 weeks, but it seems the world and his wife is also needing freezers, and I've had no replies to mine. Ended up getting one, but won't be delivered for 10 days!! At least my coupons have saved me buying laundry sundries for the remainder of the year so thats going to cut back on the shopping bill :D....Regards Ink, I've never heard of that system, could you explain? Please. Many Thankyous to you xx :A

It's basically a mod to your printer which feeds it with larger (External) reservoir of ink making it last longer without changing the print cartridges. One of the previous thread owners 'Sher60' used to swear by hers but I think you need to be into extreme couponing to justify it, but each to their own.....Also be aware that if your printer is in warranty using this, unless supplied by the manufacturer, will void your warranty but then so will using compatible inks

Think this is connected to the 1p etc product specific coupons that S tills were spitting out a few weeks back......Gonna be lots of bits of paper blowing about in S car parks if this happens unless they employ common sense and give you one coupon at the end for the overall shop......Otherwise can see peeps in T with 300+ coupons all for 1p :rotfl:Think T will quickly say they can only accept 1 like the apg's ;)

We are having this trialled in 3 of my stores and it seems to be working well - with your receipt you receive a little till spit that confirms if the price match has kicked in and wether Mr S is cheaper, if not it has a coupon value on it which can be redeemed at your next shop.

I have tried a few permutations and it does seem to wotk well. :)

The downsides (for us the shoppers) are easy to spot. . . .

We have to take their word for it - although so far it looks accurate.

We dont get to find out any of the comparisons used - so its hard (for us) to double check.

We have to spend at least £20 for it to kick in.

Its only Brand items (eg Taste the Diff vintage Balsamic is £12 and Tesco Finest is £6 so no pricematch as not Branded) frankly this sucks and I am now walking around Mr S noticing their slightly higher own brand products that I normally buy - This is having a very negative impact on me, so think overall this promotion is backfiring

All our main Mr T have point of sale saying they accept the "new Brand Match" vouchers and I can confirm using them in Mr T without any trouble, all though on all 3 occassions the S.A did mention not having seen one before.

So it is working well but not of great benefit to fanatical shoppers like me and it looks like its gonna be tricky to find any use for it as the best we will get is a match on the others Brand prices and a significant price jump on most of their own brand products (which wont be matched) :(

thanks for that IS, a poster from Northern Ireland said this a few weeks ago. They were trialling this in his store. Sorry poster, I forget who it was.

Yes I cant figure out wether you need to spend £20 or wether its 10 items ???

Either way its just Northern Ireland at the moment but unless they encouter any major hitches it will be across here next year hopefully (not before christmas I imagine)

  • We have a continuous ink system on one of our epsom printers.
Our 2nd printer has some refillable cartridges instead.

Works really well, easy to refill the bottles, and rarely causes a problem as you don't ever run out of ink.

So does it have to be £20 of only branded items or can it be some branded mixed in with Sainsburys value range or whatever?

I got it in my head it had to be at least 10 items as well???

And these are just like the normal tills pit MOCs but you can use them against any ammount in your next shop?

Looking forward to this coming across here.

  • I just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone on here. :A

I've just been to get a few bits and used coupons for the first time. I managed to get 3 boxes of Honey Shreddies for free, a jar of Sacla pasta sauce for free and a 500g tub of Vitalite for 70p. :D

I used a self scan in Mr Ts and the SA had to come & authorise the coupons. I thought she was going to be really horrible & try to stop me from using them but she just asked me if I'd bought the items I was using the coupons for. I said I was & started to point them out in the bag but she didn't pay any attention. After 2 coupons she started to look impressed that I was using them and asked me which website I'd printed them from. I didn't say here, I told her my mate had sent them to me.

Thanks again everyone. MSE is brilliant and it's lovely how everyone helps each other. I really hope I find a coupon or discount so I can share it with everyone.
