Jacobs..... where are you???

Hi guys, thought I'd share my experience with Jacobs Bailiffs with you... I owe £340 council tax from my last address, it's only from last year and I'm trying to sort it with the council, but on May 25th I received a notice from Jacobs saying I had 24 hours to respond blah, blah, blah. I initially panicked and phoned the number given and left a message asking the guy to call at my home at 6pm the following day when I would be home from work to sort a payment plan. He didn't reply and never showed up, which was just as well cos by that time I had done some research on this and other websites and there was no way I was going to let him in! It's worth noting that the charges at that time were £368.73 + costs... Fast forward to August 4th when I received a 24 hour removal notice from Jacobs with a different bailiffs name with charges now standing at £531.73 demanding I contact him with full payment within 24 hours as they MAY remove my goods even if I'm not in. I did not contact him and as luck would have it, it's my day off today so I have been patiently waiting for him to come round so I can tell him in person where to go!!! I've had to pop out twice to walk the dog, he may have been in that time but I doubt it...! So it would seem their threats are idle to put it politely!!! Whilst I take nothing for granted and they could turn up again any day, I am least prepared for them and am trying to sort my debt with the council.
I just want to tell people who are fearful of these people and others like them not to worry, these companies work on scare tactics and rely on most people phoning them in a blind panic to make some sort of payment plan with them as I tried to do, no doubt in a couple of months I'll get another demand and another threat but because of sites like these I'm not afraid and I'm not worried :)

So they called again today, 6th August, only 24 hours late!! I was at work today and I left the house at 11.15 and got home at 5.45ish, the notice today said I had until 5pm today to pay or they would remove my stuff at that time whether I was at home or not..... I've no idea what time they came today or if they came back at 5..... but I still have my stuff and my door is still intact!!! Time to report them for intimidating a helpless single female I think!!!
