DMP & Claiming PPI

Hello everyone,

Firstly please move this email to the PPI section if anyone feel this is the wrong place.

I am looking to claim back my ppi payments as I am unaware of being asked about whether I wanted it or not. I am currently half way through a 6 year DMP and I know that if I get any refunds it would go to paying off that debt.

I would prefer to get a 3rd party to deal with these creditors as I am not good dealing with these hard nose business people.

So has anyone has a successful claim while on a dmp?
Did it have any adverse effect on how your creditors treated you afterwards?
And what company did you use.

Thank you very much

Susanna

    Hi Susanna,
I've been on a DMP for 3 years and successfully claimed PPI back from 2 loans (Lloyds TSB and LVBS). As you say the refund goes off your loan account but it reduced the balance so much that out of 6 debts the 2 loans have now been paid off :j I used the claim template off Money Expert website (which is now a standard FOS form all the banks seems to be using) so DON'T pay hard earned cash to use a company to claim it for you - if any money you reclaim goes directly off your loan accounts I would assume you'd still have to find the cash to pay the reclaim company their share
    good luck

Sorry - forgot to add that LVBS treated me no differently - they have always been kind about my situation. Lloyds haven't treated me any differently either - they've always treated their customers like dirt
